The Great Wave Lapis Lazuli Necklace

Lapiz Lazuli necklace in sterling silver from Ellen's Angles & Curls collection. Inspired by the Great Wave woodblock print by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai.

The Angles & Curls collection is based on sketches and studies of ironwork within architecture. The Deco Curl motif recurs throughout the collection as a core element. Here it appears in a three part chain, tapering in size.

Strung on to silk, each rough cut Lapis Lazuli bead is pearl-knotted inbetween to add strength and movement. The stones have been carefully arranged from larger sizes through to small to compliment the chain section. Featuring a hook and eye clasp that fastens at one end of the chain, the Lapis beads rest around the neck. This necklace can be worn with the chain section at the front or hanging off centre down one side.
